Tours are added to the schedule as guides become available, sometimes just a few days in advance. Check the calendar regularly, especially near the end of each month when we do a big update of the schedule.
No, requests for specific dates or times are not accepted. Tours are added based on guide availability.
If your group is larger than what's typically available for booking, send an email to inquire about availability and pricing.
Think of it this way: A free tour is like an adventure with a local friend who knows all the best spots! You decide how much you want to pay at the end, based on how much fun you had.
It's up to you! A good tip shows your appreciation for your guide's knowledge and enthusiasm. Many people tip between ¥1000 and ¥2000 per person, but there's no right or wrong amount.
The meeting location can be found on the respective event page and is also included in the email confirmation link.
Our tours can sometimes be a bit challenging, with slopes, stairs, and narrow entrances. If you think you can handle it, we're happy to have you join!
There are no age restrictions for most tours. However, the Pub Crawl tour is restricted to individuals who are 20 years old or older.
We always try to avoid canceling a tour, but in some cases, it's needed. Just always make sure to check the event page where you signed up before you head out to the meeting spot. We always write about current updates, changes etc in the event post.
If a tour is canceled, all participants will be notified via email with the subject line "Canceled, please check event." Please check your email and use the event link for further information.
Our main tour covers Gion and Higashiyama districts. We start in front of the Izumo no Okuni statue, take a walk through the geisha quarters, through Kenninji temple, pass by Yasaka pagoda, Ninenzaka street and finish at Yasaka shrine.
